Obituary of Paul Wendell White

May 26, 1943 - February 23, 2026

U.S. Veteran

Paul White, loving father, husband, uncle, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, February 23, 2026. He was born on May 26, 1943, in Salyersville, KY.

A man whose heart belonged fully to the Lord, his greatest joy was being in church, worshipping and spending time in God’s presence. His faith shaped every decision. For 43 years, Paul shared his life with his beloved wife, Bobbie. They married on June 18, 1982. Together, they raised five children, each one shaped by Paul’s example. He was the kind of father who always had a riddle, a joke, or a gentle word ready. Even when he was upset, he remained calm. Becoming a grandfather was one of the greatest joys of his life. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye, and he embraced being a “PawPaw” with pride. Paul spent most of his career as a truck driver, working hard to provide for his family. But his calling was in ministry for many years, and his life was a testimony of quiet service, always pointing back to the Lord. He was also a proud veteran of the United States Army. Even in his final breaths, Paul was praying, holding fast to the Word. Though he is gone from this life, he will be remembered for his love of a good riddle, his calm spirit, and his unwavering devotion to God. His life revolved around faith; his legacy on Earth is one of love, for his Savior, for his wife, for his children and grandchildren, and for everyone who crossed his path.

Left to cherish Paul’s memory is his beloved wife, Bobbie White; sons, Randy White and wife, Venus, of Lumberton, TX, Alvin White of Kirbyville, TX, and Chad Gaught and wife, Crystal of Kirbyville, TX; daughter, Christian White of Fred, TX; brothers, William White of Casper, WY, Evert White of Westville, IN, and Clayton Patrick of Knox, IN; wonderful grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Austin White, Cameron Gaught, Samantha Gaught, Chase Matlock, and Christopher White; great-grandchildren that stole his heart, Briggs Dean Mobley Gaught, Piper Mobly, Iyla Rose Broom, Kylar Matlock, and Kason Matlock; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and loved ones.

Preceding Paul in death are his parents, Raymond White and Hilda Rudd; daughter, Tara Matlock; brothers, Raymond White, Randall Joe White, and Eugene Patrick; and sisters, Gail White and Arlena White Dixon.

Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Lumberton Family Funeral Home. Paul's life honoring funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., February 28, 2026, at Lumberton Family Funeral Home with interment to follow at Trout Creek Cemetery.
