Obituary of Pansy "Pat" Howard

August 26, 1931 - February 26, 2026

Pansy “Pat” Howard, 94, of Colmesneil, Texas, was born on August 26, 1931, in Jasper, Texas. She was a devoted wife, dedicated sister, and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked for 20 plus years as head custodian at Woodville High School where she was loved and cherished by both staff and student body alike. She loved her “kids” there and enjoyed her job very much. She was a long-time member of the First Assembly of God church in Colmesneil, where she spent her time faithfully worshipping her Lord and serving in any capacity needed.

Left behind to treasure her memory are her sister, Cindy Sandefer, of Lumberton, Tx., her son, Wilkin W. Howard Jr. and his wife, Patsy, of Corrigan, Tx., her daughters, Bonnie Howard Schmidt and husband David, of Lumberton, Tx., and Nancy Howard Ellis and husband Malcom, of Colmesneil, Tx. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Lee Sandefer, mother, Daisy Bertie Ward Sandefer, brother, Ulys “Buck” Sandefer, sister, Nancy Jane Sandefer Carrico, husband, of 51 years, Wilkin Willis Howard Sr., daughter, Lavelle “Tootsie” Howard Bean, daughter, Willa Myrel Howard Conley, and son, Kenneth “Kip” Lee Howard Sr.

Funeral service will be held Monday, March 2, 2026, at 11 am at the First Assembly of God Church in Colmesneil. Burial will follow at the Colmesneil City Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 10 am until 11 am at the church.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful staff at The Orchard Assisted Living for taking care of our Mom with abundant compassion and kindness. We would also like to thank Olive Branch Hospice for walking with us and guiding us through this journey. God’s love was evident in your care.
