Obituary of Leonard Nelson Horn

February 6, 1942 - April 21, 2025

Leonard Nelson Horn, age 83, passed away Monday morning, April 21, 2025, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Lockhart Texas. He was born and raised in Magnolia Springs and graduated from Jasper High School in 1960. Leonard was the owner/operator of L & L Radiator and Muffler Shop for 25 years. He was well-liked by both his peers and patrons and was always up for a cup of coffee anytime of the day.

Leonard is the last surviving child of Thomas Jackson Horn and Belle Nelson Horn. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary McDaniel Horn of Jasper; his son Lynn Horn and wife, Melissa, of Lockhart Texas, and son Jeff Horn of Grand Prairie Texas. His grandchildren include Jessica Molt of Hockley Texas, Jami Horn of Katy Texas, Jordyn Horn of Austin Texas, and Kason Horn of Grand Prairie Texas. Additionally, he has six great-grandchildren: Hunter Johnson, Dillyn Johnson, Peyton Horn, Tyler Molt, Reese Zalacca and Benny Medrano and two great-great-grandchildren: Briggs Horn and Kinleigh Johnson.

Local services will be handled by Stringer-Griffin Funeral home, with visitation on Friday, April 25, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at the Magnolia Springs Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Johnson, Dillyn Johnson, Tyler Molt, Nicholas Dawson, Ben Ferrell, and Kenneth Molt. Honorary pallbearers will be Trenton Ferrell and Collin Ferrell.
