She was honored with the Homemaking Award and the Citizenship Award.
After graduation in 1964 she attended Stephen F. Austin majoring in home economics and education. There she met a handsome football player from nearby Chester, TX named Julian Bush. After graduation they married and began their careers as educators.
Julian’s football coaching led them to many schools throughout the state including Bryan, La Mesa, Channelview, Grapevine, Odessa Lee, Mexia, Floresville, and Pasadena. Together they made a terrific team who personally and spiritually impacted thousands of students.
