Jimmy Edward Hayden, lovingly known as “Pop,” was born on March 1, 1955, in Massillon, Ohio, to Mary June Fletcher Hayden and Leonard Howard Hayden. On December 12, 2025, Jimmy walked peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Joann; and his brother, Jack.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 20 years, Shirley; his sisters Jill and Judy, his daughter Susan and her husband Casey; his son Michael and daughter-in-law Cida; and his cherished grandchildren Kristin, Trinity, Casen, Caleb, Katherine, and Lucca. He also leaves behind his precious great-granddaughter, Evie Jo, who brought him great joy.

He was grateful for his dialysis and other nurses and friends who became an important part of his extended family.

Jimmy deeply loved Jesus and his church family, and he faithfully served the Lord by playing the shofar trumpet during prayer time. His faith was the foundation of his life and the source of his strength, peace, and kindness.

A gifted artist and creative soul, Jimmy was known as “the airbrush artist” of the family. He painted everything from shop signs and guitars to children’s room signs, party decorations, and even each individual brick of his home by hand. No package arrived without his doodles and artistic touches. His creativity knew no bounds and brought beauty and joy to everyone around him.

Jimmy also loved music, art in all forms, nature, animals, and feeding the birds and other critters. He found peace in camping, fishing, sitting by a fire, and woodcarving. He could play the bass for hours and admired vintage vehicles. He had a special bond with his beloved cat, Forest, who was by his side for 13 years. He was also known for his generous heart and willingness to help those less fortunate whenever he could.

A hard worker, fixer, and creative thinker, Jimmy was devoted to his family. He lovingly cared for his wife, especially during her recovery from a craniotomy last year, even while facing his own health challenges.

Though we will miss him deeply, we rejoice knowing that Jimmy’s body is now fully healed and that he is at peace, rejoicing in Heaven with our Lord.
