Jamie Graham Rowles, 79 of Buna passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
Funeral service will be 10 am, Saturday, November 22, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Buna with burial at Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday, November 21, 2025 at the church.
Jamie was born October 27, 1946 to James W. Graham and Clair Turney Graham in San Antonio, Texas.
Jamie was very active in all school activities including three years in the Cherokee Pep Squad. She married her high school sweetheart, Billy on January 6, 1966. After the service and highway patrol training, they lived in Austin for two years before moving to Buna in 1970 with their two children. In 1971, Billy Jr came along.
As the children got older, Jamie and Billy started coaching younger girls’ softball. Jamie fired Billy because he was too serious!
Jamie was an active member of the Eastern Star for over 40 years. She worked her way up to worthy matron and Billy joined her as her worthy patron. She was a registered Yellow Rose of Texas appointed by Governor Preston Smith. After 20 years of service, Jamie retired from Orange County Sheriff’s Office where she worked as a corrections officer. Jamie and Billy were active members of Genesis Baptist Church where she loved working in the nursery with the children. In 2001, they were honored to be selected as the Red Bud Festival King and Queen.
Jamie is survived by her husband, Billy Rowles; children, Connie Fancher and Dale, Karolyn Wells and Gary, Billy Rowles, Jr. and Lita; sisters, Darlene Pierson and Mike, Crystal Ovens; grandchildren, Craig Lonion and Lindsey, Chelsea Rowlett and Tyler, Ty Rowles and Kara, Mason Ross, Dylan Wells; 8 great grandchildren; special family members, Sydney Burge, Buddy Burge, and James Burge.
