James William Cravy Jr.

“My Baby, Daddy, Paw, Peanut”

James William Cravy Jr., lovingly known as My Baby, Daddy, Paw, and Peanut, was born on January 31, 1966, and went to be with our Heavenly Father on January 16, 2026.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, January 23, 2026 at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna with visitation from 5-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

James leaves behind his devoted wife of 39 years, Bokay Cravy, whom he cherished deeply. He is also survived by his kids Tara Stanley and husband Doug, Krystal Champagne, and Alyssa Pittmon and husband Justin.

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Brant Stanley, Kylee Champagne, Ammity Stanley, Brazleigh Pittmon, Azzy Hopson, Raelynn Pittmon, and Ramzi Hopson.

James also leaves behind many, many friends, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, all of whom were blessed to know and love him.

James held many jobs throughout his life, but his greatest and most important roles were being a husband, father, and grandfather. His family meant more to him than anything in this world. He was one of the greatest people anyone could ever know and always tried to be the best friend he could be to everyone he met.

James shared close bonds with his coworkers, whom he loved like family. He worked as a glazier for over 20 years, then pursued his lifelong dream by attending the police academy, becoming a reserve officer with the Kountze Police Department, where he served for three years. He later worked in construction for over 10 years, forming many lasting friendships along the way.

The number of people gathered is a true testament to how deeply James was loved—and how deeply he loved others.

James was preceded in death by his grandmother, Stella Carter, his father, J.W. Cravy, and Mary Cravy.

James will forever be remembered for his big heart, unwavering love for his family, loyalty to his friends, and the kindness he showed to everyone he encountered. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
