April 29, 2013 - September 11, 2025

Our beloved and sweet Hyns, also known as “Edelweiss”, received her healing on September 11, 2025, at the age of 12.
Born on April 29, 2013, Hynslee was our miracle, our light, and our fighter. Though her journey was marked by physical challenges, she lived each day with remarkable grace and an unshakable bond with those who loved her most. She didn’t laugh or smile in the usual ways, but she knew her parents and her eyes and spirit spoke volumes of the love she carried in her heart. Affectionately nicknamed “Edelweiss,” Hynslee reflected the flower’s quiet strength, resilience, purity, and beauty. Just as the song reminds us to “bloom and grow forever,” she blossomed in her own way, she will forever grow in our teaching us about love, endurance, and the gentle presence of God even in the hardest valleys. Her life was a living hymn, soft but steady, fragile yet strong. The Sound of Music became more than a movie, it became a reflection of Hynslee’s spirit. The joy of The Sound of Music, the perseverance of Climb Every Mountain, and the farewell woven into Edelweiss capture the story of her twelve beautiful years. Though her time with us was short, her life sang a melody that will echo forever in the hearts of all who knew her.
Hynslee is survived by her devoted parents, Chase and Britta Gonzales; her brothers, Trenton, Grayson and Ridge, who loved their sister beyond words, and a large extended family who cherished her deeply.
Her life reminds us that legacies are not measured in years, but in the love shared and the lessons left behind, as she was a remarkable teacher. Just as Maria Von Trapp was advised by the nuns to do God’s will, as she faced many challenges with resilience and determination as she repeatedly strived to overcome them, Hynslee did the same. Hynslee’s presence was a sacred gift as her life mirrored the, “The Sound of Music.” Our Edelweiss, Climbed Every Mountain. She pursued one’s path and over came life’s obstacles, even when the path ahead was uncertain. She is now whole, free and surrounded by the eternal song of God’s love.
Forever our Edelweiss, you taught us to climb every mountain with faith, and though the sound of your music has quieted here, its melody will rise in Heaven and echo in our hearts until we meet again. So long, farewell.
Bless our hometown forever, Edelweiss
