Obituary of George Clarence May, Jr.

November 1, 1943 - June 24, 2025

George C. May, Jr., 81, of Magnolia Springs, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.

George was born November 21, 1943 to George C. May and Vivian Irene Phillips in Texas City, Texas. He was a 1962 graduate of Kirbyville High School.

George enjoyed gardening, nature, and was an avid hunter in “Horn Bottom” where he spent most of his life. He always held a special place in his heart for the Native American Indians. George was a Christian that loved the Lord and loved quoting scripture from the Bible to his friends and family.

George is preceded in death by his parents, George C. May and Vivian Irene May.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Martha Cochran of Kirbyville; two brothers, James F. May and wife Markett of Brookeland, and Charles P. May and wife Beth of Port Arthur, as well as many nieces and nephews, and cousins.

A private burial will be at Hamilton Cemetery in Jasper, Texas.
