Obituary of Fred Smith, Jr.

December 21, 1936 - December 3, 2025

Fred Smith, Jr., 88,of Huntsville, Texas, formerly of Buna, died Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Huntsville Memorial Hospital.

Graveside funeral service will be 1:00 pm Sunday, December 21, at Morse Cemetery in Buna under the direction of Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna.

Dr. Fred Smith was born December 21, 1936 in Port Arthur, Texas to Fred Smith and Nola (Curry) Smith. He was a retired school counselor from Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. He was a longtime resident of Buna and had lived in Huntsville for one and a half years.

He is survived by three daughters, Natalie Barletta and husband Chris of Tomball; Lory Hass and husband Stephen of Huntsville; and Susan Carter and husband Foster of Houston; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
