Obituary of Frances Elaine Nimmo

September 12, 1944 — January 7, 2026

Frances Nimmo, 81, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at her home in New Caney. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home with interment to follow at Kyle Hill Cemetery in Roganville, Texas. The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Frances was born on September 12, 1944 in Bon Wier, Texas to Ocie and Inez Durand. She is survived by her son Jerry Townsend and wife Sonya of New Caney, Texas, Robert Townsend and wife Adeline of Orange, Texas; stepsons Wayne Nimmo of Minnesota, and Jerry Nimmo of Iowa; daughter Stephanie Townsend Herrington and husband Jimmy of Newton, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Roland Nimmo, son Michael Townsend, daughter Stacey Townsend, and sister Nelda Erlene Burks.
