Flora Gene McDaniel, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and lifelong educator, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, at the age of 91.
Funeral service will be 4:00 pm, Sunday, July 27, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Buna with burial at Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 pm prior to service.
Flora was the devoted wife of Jerry McDaniel. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and family. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela and Paula Phillips of Dallas, and Carolyn and Travis Tweed of Mauriceville. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Kristin and Greg Glenn of Silsbee, Dane Pattarozzi of Mauriceville, and Cara Pattarozzi and David Sicktish of Groves. Flora’s love extended to her great-grandchildren: Hunter Franz; Kayt and David Middleton; and Briana and Jacob Glenn, all of Silsbee.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn McDaniel, as well as her parents Muriel and Lonnie Miller and sisters Lonnie Lea Miller and Jannette Hendrix.
A dedicated educator, Flora spent much of her life teaching in the Buna and Kirbyville school districts, where she inspired generations of students. Her gentle spirit, steady patience, and passion for learning left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Outside the classroom, Flora found joy in the kitchen, lovingly passing down family recipes while baking with her grandchildren. She also treasured traveling especially with her beloved Jerry by her side creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
Flora Gene will be remembered for her grace, warmth, and the unwavering love she gave so freely to her family, friends, and community.
