Obituary of E.C. Carruth Jr.

June 21, 1947 - February 25, 2026

E.C. Carruth Jr., 78, of Jasper passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 in Magnolia Springs. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Magnolia Springs Old Time Methodist Church in Magnolia Springs.


E.C. was born in Port Arthur, Texas on June 21, 1947 to Elmer Carruth Sr. & Bernadine Carruth. A lifelong resident of Magnolia Springs, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. An electrician by trade, he was the owner and operator of Carruth Electrical Services. He also worked as a court mediator for several years.


A man who loved his family, he is survived by his son Jonathan Ray Carruth & wife Radonna of Silsbee; sisters Janey Roff and Cay Kent & husband Paul of Magnolia Springs; grandchildren Kristoffer Coy Carruth, Benjamin Ray Carruth, Jerrod Heath Yellott & wife Natalie, Kassidy Michelle Markham & husband Tanner; great grandchildren Kristoffer Eli Carruth, Sawyer Heath Hardcastle, Rosa Leigh Grace Hardcastle, Sasami Yellott, Sabella Yellott, Sage Yellott, Rhett Markham, Lane Markham, and Bryce Markham; a great great grandson soon to be born Leo Yellott; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his wife Melinda Kay Carruth.


In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Magnolia Springs Old Time Methodist Church, 8113 FM 1005 Magnolia Springs, Tx 75956.
