Don Peveto, 72, of Colmesneil, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025 at his residence in Colmesneil, Texas.


Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, Texas. Funeral service and burial will follow at 3:00 at Fairview Cemetery in Town Bluff. Officiating will be Brother Albert Hensarling. Serving as pallbearers will be Kameron Frank, Kent Mitcham, Ethan Pfleegor, Kris Pfleegor, Austin Pfleegor, Jared McGowan, Nate Ebach, and Cody Walters.


Donald was born February 18, 1953 to J. O. and Jewel Verlaine Peveto in Beaumont, Texas. He had lived in Colmesneil since 2005 and was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church in Zavalla. He was a self-employed truck driver.


He was preceded in death by his parents, J. O. and Jewel Verlaine Peveto; stepfather, Gerald Sears; stepson, Wesley Wiler; and Rose Peveto.


He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Paula Peveto of Colmesneil; son, Bryon Peveto of Dam-B: stepson, Kent Mitcham and wife, Merrick of Colmesneil; daughters, Candice Peveto Pfleegor and husband, Kris of Beaumont, Kimberly Peveto of Beaumont, Rebecca Hoffman of Pensacola, FL, Ashley McGowan and husband, Jared of Colmesneil; sister, Joyce Sears Walters and husband, Blake of Brookeland, TX; 10 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.


Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
