Obituary of David Wayne McAnelley

October 13, 1983 - August 15, 2025

A Celebration of David Wayne McAnelley’s Life, age 42, of Burkeville, Texas, will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Burkeville, Texas with burial to follow at Sycamore Cemetery in Burkeville.

David passed away on August 15, 2025 in Burkeville, Texas.

A native of Bedford, Virginia, former resident of Lynchburg and longtime resident of Burkeville, Texas, David enjoyed fishing, arrowhead hunting, reading his Bible and watching old westerns. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends. David was a very generous person and would give you the shirt off his back.

David is survived by his sons, Camron McAnelley and Jaden Alexander McAnelley both of Burkeville, Texas; Half-brother, James Jordan of Gilmer, Texas; aunts, Vicky Carroll of Burkeville and Barbara Brittain and husband William J., Jr. of Burkeville, Texas; uncle, Scott Heiser of Virginia as well as several cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee and Terry Lynn Fravel McAnelley and his grandparents, Chester and Billie McAnelley.
