Carl Dean Sims Sr., 76, of Woodville, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Harbor Hospice in Jasper, Texas.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Carl was born July 22, 1949 to Carl and Beatrice Sims in St. Louis, Missouri. A native of Portageville, Missouri, he was a longtime resident of Town Bluff. A 1967 graduate of Portageville High School. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1969 during the Vietnam Era. After his discharge from the Air Force, he became a self- employed TV and Electronics repairman with Sim TV Repairs. He enjoyed playing cards with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Beatrice Sims, and wife of over 38 years, Debra Gail Sims.

He is survived by his son, Carl Sims II, Ronnie Sims, and Phillip Sims all of Woodville; daughter, Heather Dawn Lilley and husband John of Woodville; and a host of other family and friends.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
