Obituary of Calvin "Bo" Owens, Jr.

September 18, 1955 - September 21, 2025

Calvin “Bo” Owens, Jr., 70, of Warren, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.

Visitation will begin 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday, September 26. 2025 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville with a 11;30 a.m. graveside service following at Justice Cemetery in Warren. Officiating will be Pastor John Yaws. Serving as pallbearers will be James Calvin Daniels, Robert Karstedt, John Yaws, T.J. Odom, Cody Smith, and Edwin Smith. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Callahan.

Calvin was born September 18, 1955 to Calvin Sr. and Lois Jones Owens in Groveton, Texas. A 1973 graduate of Splendora High School. He was a longtime commercial carpenter. Calvin enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Sr and Lois Owens; and sister, Janie Griffin.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sherree Owens of Warren; son, Shawne Owens and wife Heather of Warren; daughter, Crystal Cherry and husband Joe of Kountze; sisters, Barbara Daniels and husband James of College Station, Francis McKean and husband Billie of Arkansas, and Virginia Yaws and husband John of Shepherd; brother, Morris Owens and wife Rose of Cleveland; grandchildren, Kayla Hartless and husband Daniel, Cheridan Lewis, Mathew Lewis, Kaitlyn Burns and husband Garrett, Fallyne Cherry, and Kamdyn Cherry; great grandchildren, Karter Smith, Stetson Hartless, and Aurora Hartless.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas.
