Obituary of Beverly Gail Avila

August 26, 1946 - January 14, 2026

A Celebration of Beverly Gail Avila’s Life, age 79, of Burkeville, Texas will be held at a later date.

Beverly passed away on January 14, 2026 at Rayburn Health Care and Rehabilitation.

A native and a longtime resident of Groves, Texas, she has been a resident of Burkeville, Texas for the past 20 years. Beverly was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Port Arthur, Texas.

She loved her dogs, Ally and Poo Bear, her grandchildren and she loved spending time at the lake with her husband and friends drinking coffee.

Beverly is survived by her children, Michael Avila of Wiergate, Texas; daughter, Lori Thibodeaux and husband Randy of Groves, Texas; sister, Cindy Haley and husband Carroll of Brookeland Texas; grandchildren, Blake Avila, Dylan Girolamo, Tyler Girolamo, Landon Thibodeaux, Amanda Thibodeaux and Shane Thibodeaux; and several great-grandchildren. Beverly also had a close relationship with her sisters- in law, Gale Osborne, Rosemary Bolte, Rochelle Vaughan and Judy Doyle.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Eula Mae Osborne; husband, Carl Avila; sisters, Patricia Wells and Janelle Mallet and brothers, Melvin Osborne Jr. and Steve Osborne.

The family would like to thank Beverly’s caregivers Ta’Mika Johnson and Joyce Hudson for loving and taking wonderful care of their mother.

Cremation Arrangements are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.
