Obituary of Anna LaVelle Brown

May 13, 1940 - February 2, 2026

Anna LaVelle Brown was born May 13, 1940 in Beaumont, TX to Annette Anderson Werner and Vernon Werner. She passed away on February 2, 2026 in Winnie, TX.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Friday, February 6, 2026 at Thicket Church of God in Thicket, TX with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery in Kirbyville, TX. Visitation will begin at 1 pm prior to service.

LaVelle lived a life of devotion and service to the Lord. She spent most of her time at church and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. LaVelle found joy in spending time with her family and baking for those she loved. She always had a smiling face and a warm welcome to everyone she knew and met, continually leading others to Christ through her example.

LaVelle is preceded in death by her loving husband Wilbert Brown of 54 years, her parents, and her siblings LaVerne Ricks, Vernon “Butch” Werner, and Glenda Linscomb.

She is survived by her son Barry Brown of Kountze, Texas and her daughter Lana Knight of Sour Lake, Texas. Her grandchildren include Christopher Brown, Joshua Brown and his wife Amber, Katie Brown, and Ty Brown, all of Lufkin, Texas. Also, Amber White and her husband Tyler of Sour Lake, Texas. Her great grandchildren include Kinley Anna White, Nora Lane

Brown, and Klate Jeremiah White.

A special thank you to Trisha Foust, Tina Fernando, and Joy Mancao, for their exceptional care and dedicated service they provided to LaVelle throughout the last years of her life.
