Obituary of Alene Veatch Dunn

June 3, 1943 - October 31, 2025

Graveside celebration of the life of Alene Veatch Dunn, age 82, of Jasper, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 6, 2025 at Zion Hill Cemetery in Jasper, Texas. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas.

Alene passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Rayburn Health and Rehabilitation in Jasper, Texas.

A native and lifelong resident of Jasper, Texas, Alene was employed by Visador in Jasper for over twenty years and then by Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital where she retired after serving as the Administrative Secretary for over twenty years. Alene liked to write and was the author of two books. She enjoyed genealogy, scrap booking and was an active member of the Jasper Church of Christ. Alene loved spending time with her family.

Alene is survived by her two sons, Jeff Dunn and wife Hilary of Huntsville, Texas and Jason Dunn of Nacogdoches, Texas and her two granddaughters, Allie Dunn and Olivia Dunn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Murry T. and Mary Ola Worry Veatch and her husband of 43 years, George Dunn.
