Get ready for high-flying stunts, big energy, and college spirit! Northwestern State University’s Cheer Team is heading to Jasper for a four-day visit June 26–29, and the community is rolling out the red carpet.
The excitement kicks off Thursday, June 26 at 5:30 PM at Courthouse Square, where NSU Cheerleaders will meet the public, perform stunt exhibitions, pose for photos, and share what it’s like to cheer at the collegiate level.
But it gets even better — on Saturday, June 28, Jasper Jewels Athletics will host two cheer camps led by the NSU team, offering local youth and high school students a rare chance to train with one of Louisiana’s most spirited college squads.
Camps are open for registration now through Jasper Jewels Athletics. Space may be limited, so early sign-ups are encouraged.
Community businesses and supporters are also invited to get in on the action. Sponsorship opportunities are available, with perks including T-shirt placement, social media recognition, and team shoutouts throughout the week.
Whether you're a cheer hopeful or just want to see the excitement firsthand, this is a perfect time to show Jasper pride and give NSU Cheer a Texas-sized welcome.
