Newton woman arrested for felony warrant and methamphetamines in Jasper

JASPER, TX- Early Sunday morning, around 12:21 am, Jasper County Deputy Noel stopped a vehicle on Hwy 96 for several traffic violations.
Upon speaking with the driver and passenger, Noel could smell marijuana which gave him sufficient cause to search the vehicle.
During the search, Deputy Noel located a clear baggie that contained 4.1 grams of methamphetamine in the area where the passenger, identified as 36-year-old Elizabeth Gray of Newton, was sitting.
Gray was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance which is a 2nd Degree Felony. She was also wanted out of Tyler County on a felony warrant. Gray was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
Remember, Gray is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
