Seven Newton ISD students are representing their community this week at the Tapia STEM Camp at Rice University, an elite summer program designed to strengthen students' skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Currently attending are Carson Shoemaker, Lane Fomby, Madelyn Foster, Octavian Holloway, Emily Morrison, Harley Watson, and Rosalind Spikes. Earlier this summer, Logan North and Kiston Goss also participated in the camp.
Hosted on the campus of Rice University in Houston, the Tapia STEM Camp provides students with rigorous academic curriculum paired with training in communication, teamwork, and leadership. The experience helps prepare high school students for future STEM careers while fostering confidence and collaboration.
Newton ISD is proud of these young scholars and looks forward to welcoming them back with new skills and inspiration. Fly high, Eagles!
