Newton Sheriff Fake Facebook Profile:
It has recently been brought to our attention that there is a newly created fake Facebook page titled “Newton
Sheriff”. This is not affiliated with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office official Facebook page in any way.
Radio Upgrade for Newton County Law Enforcement:
Over the past year, Newton County officials have worked diligently to improve radio communications for local
law enforcement. The outdated VHF system often left deputies responding to dangerous calls with little to no
communication with dispatchers. On Thursday, September 25, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office upgraded to a digital
radio system, significantly enhancing communication and improving officer safety. I am proud of every official
who contributed to this milestone for public safety in Newton County.
Calls for Service:
We answered 60 calls for service this week and booked 6 individuals into the Newton County Jail. We currently
have 25 inmates housed in the following facilities: 7 in Beauregard Parish, 6 in Jasper, and 12 in Newton.
Thought for the Week:
You have power over your mind, not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.
