NEWTON COUNTY, Texas — The Newton County Judge’s Office has officially rescinded the Disaster Declaration and Burn Ban Order issued on October 21, 2025.
Effective Monday, October 27, residents are once again allowed to conduct safe outdoor burning, including trash, brush, and campfires.
In the official statement released through the Newton County Emergency Alert System, the County Judge’s Office emphasized that although burning is permitted, residents must exercise extreme caution. Fires should always be attended, carefully controlled, and fully extinguished when complete.
County officials, along with the Newton County Office of Emergency Management and local fire departments, will continue to monitor drought and fire danger conditions. The order notes that the burn ban could be reinstated at any time if dry or hazardous conditions return.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed through local alerts and official county updates.
ORDERED this 27th day of October 2025.
