Newton County Deputies Capture Fugitive in Indian Lake Area

INDIAN LAKE, Texas — A fugitive wanted on multiple felony warrants across Newton and Hardin Counties was arrested Saturday evening after deputies tracked him to a residence off Indian Lake Road (CR 4213) in Newton County.
Sheriff Colton Havard said Deputy B. Sonnier and Sgt. Cagle located and arrested Tommy Lynn Woodcock Sr. around 7:00 p.m. on September 27, 2025. Woodcock was also wanted on a parole violation issued by Texas Pardon and Parole.
He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Newton County Jail. Woodcock faces the following charges:
Parole Violation (Possession of Controlled Substance)
Failure to Appear – Manufacture/Delivery of Controlled Substance PG 1 (Hardin County)
Failure to Appear – Evading Arrest/Detention with a Motor Vehicle (Hardin County)
Bond Forfeiture – Manufacture/Delivery of Controlled Substance PG 1 (Newton County)
Bond Forfeiture – Evading Arrest (Newton County)
Sheriff Havard emphasized that his office will continue working closely with partner agencies to locate and arrest fugitives in order to keep Newton County communities safe.
