Narcotics Arrest Made Following Traffic Stop in Dam-B / Town Bluff Area

TYLER COUNTY, Texas — A Friday night traffic stop in the Dam-B / Town Bluff area resulted in a narcotics arrest after deputies with the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office reportedly discovered multiple controlled substances inside a vehicle.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Friday, December 12, 2025, at approximately 9:00 p.m., while deputies were patrolling the Dam-B area near Town Bluff. Deputies stopped a yellow pickup truck on Farm-to-Market Road 92 near County Road 4125, a well-traveled route in that part of Tyler County.
The driver was identified as Larry Hollis, 45, of Ivanhoe.
During the traffic stop, deputies developed probable cause and conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, deputies reportedly located a pill bottle containing Xanax with the prescription label scratched off, a small amount of marijuana, and a clear plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance.
Authorities stated the substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Hollis was taken into custody and transported to the Tyler County Jail, where he was charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) — 16 grams, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Xanax), and Possession of Marijuana.
Justice of the Peace Tina Self set Hollis’ bond at a combined total of $97,000.
