Multiple Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 190 East of Jasper

JASPER COUNTY, Texas – A serious crash Friday afternoon east of Jasper left multiple people injured, including a child, and shut down traffic on U.S. Highway 190 for nearly an hour.
At 4:43 p.m., Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a two-vehicle accident about one mile east of FM 777 in the Beech Grove community.
Arriving units found two SUVs involved in the crash — a small SUV in the roadway fully engulfed in flames, and a black SUV off the south side of the highway with significant damage.
Firefighters worked quickly to battle the blaze while also treating the injured. Allegiance Mobile Health – Jasper EMS transported one occupant to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital. Two additional occupants, including a child, were transported by private vehicle to Christus Jasper Memorial. Officials say all sustained significant injuries, with one believed to be critical.
The highway was shut down for nearly an hour as firefighters extinguished the flames and state troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the crash. Jasper Exxon Towing and Hatch’s Towing assisted with clearing the wreckage.
Jasper Volunteer Fire Department also responded to assist with traffic control, while Beech Grove VFD operated Engine 11 with 10 firefighters on scene.
