Multiple Fires Have Broken Out Across Jasper County Today and Continue to Burn, Fire Officials Urge Caution

Fire crews are actively battling multiple fires that have ignited across Jasper County today, spreading quickly due to dry conditions and wind. The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department, Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department, and the Texas A&M Forest Service have been deployed to contain the blazes, with resources stretched across several locations.

East Texas Banner has been on the scene of many of these fires, including the most recent one near 500 County Road 594 in Kirbyville.

While no injuries or structural losses have been reported at this time, fire officials are warning residents to remain cautious and avoid any activity that could spark additional fires.

Kirbyville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Greg Ellis is urging residents to remain vigilant despite recent rainfall."Just because we have had some rain does not mean the grass will not burn," Chief Ellis stated.

Jasper County is not currently under a Burn Ban, but residents are strongly advised to avoid outdoor burning and remain aware of the ongoing fire risks.

Emergency crews continue to respond to fires across the county, and officials are asking the public to steer clear of affected areas to allow firefighters to work safely.

This is a developing situation. East Texas Banner will provide updates as more information becomes available.
