BEAUMONT, TX —

Scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms are expected each afternoon through the next seven days.

Little change expected the next seven days. Scattered showers and storms are expected daily through the next week across Southeast Texas.

A disturbance, currently over the Yucatan, is expected to emerge into the Bay of Campeche late tonight. It'll move ashore between Tampico and Brownsville Friday morning with little if any development.

Erin is being steered west by the Subtropical High to its north. It will become a major hurricane Monday. A weakness in the Subtropical Ridge will allow the storm to turn north. European Ensemble shows it staying out of the gulf and east of Florida.

Forecast Discussion

Little change is forecast with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms persisting in the forecast across Southeast Texas the next seven days with a 30-40% coverage.

High pressure aloft will build over the region Saturday and this may reduce rain chances a bit however, it’ll push afternoon highs upwards into the middle 90s.

Lows will remain in the middle 70s with highs in the lower to middle 90s.
