Man Arrested for Sexual Assault in North Jasper County

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Jasper man following a violent sexual assault reported Tuesday in north Jasper County.

According to Sheriff Chuck Havard, deputies and investigators responded on November 4, 2025, after receiving a report of a sexual assault. Investigators say the victim suffered extensive injuries consistent with a violent assault.

After collecting evidence and conducting interviews, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Samuel Jason Jones, 53, of Jasper, on a charge of Sexual Assault (Second-Degree Felony). Jones was taken into custody at his residence and booked into the Jasper County Jail.

Sheriff Havard stated that the investigation remains active and ongoing.

Jones is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff Havard emphasized that the Sheriff's Office remains committed to combating criminal activity and protecting victims in Jasper County.
