Update - Major Multi-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Highway 190 Near Dam B Bridge

Emergency crews are responding to a major multi-vehicle accident that occurred just before 8:00 a.m. Wednesday in the construction zone on Highway 190 at the Dam B bridge.
The accident is near the temporary traffic light on the State Park side of the bridge, located on U.S. Highway 190 just east of Town Bluff, in Tyler County, near the entrance to Martin Dies Jr. State Park. The area spans the B.A. Steinhagen Reservoir, commonly known to locals as Dam B.
At this time, traffic has been stopped in both directions, and emergency crews are actively working the scene. The full extent of injuries and the number of vehicles involved has not yet been confirmed.
UPDATE: Dam B bridge is back open at 9:15AM Wednesday morning, while the emergency responders continue to clean up the debris.
Multiple victims were transported by Life Flight following a four-vehicle accident at the Dam B bridge Wednesday morning.
Sources say that Jasper Fire Department was en route to assist with the Life Flight landing zone, while Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department was initially dispatched to the scene. Emergency crews from the Tyler County side are also believed to be assisting with the response.
TxDOT has been notified and will handle hazardous materials cleanup at the site that appears to be insecticide.
