Major accident claimed the life of local Officer

A beloved former Kirbyville Police Officer, and Jasper County Deputy was in a serious accident earlier today.

Sadly, 44-year-old Christopher Sherer succumbed to injuries sustained during the crash and was pronounced deceased by medical staff at Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Chris was currently with Jasper Police Department, working at Jasper ISD.

A fellow officer had this to say about Chris, "He loved kids, and his community. He was selfless and always doted on his wife and his girls."

He will be greatly missed.

All photos are from Chris's Facebook account. ETB won't be sharing the accident photos at this time.
