Updated: Major accident at Hwy 63 and 190 in Jasper

Jasper Volunteer Fire Department and Jasper Police were called out at 3:28 pm Wednesday to Hwy 190 at Hwy 63 East in Jasper for a major accident with possible entrapments.
According to the police report, a black 2017 Toyota Camry driven by 35-year-old Katelyn Gibson of Jasper was driving eastbound on Hwy 63 East when she pulled out from a stop sign and into the path of a 2020 white Nissan Altima driven by 54-year-old Teresa Floyd of Jasper who was traveling westbound on Hwy 190 East. According to the report, Gibson stated that she simply did not see the oncoming vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital via Allegiance EMS for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were towed by Jasper Xxon.
No tools were used as occupants were able to exit the vehicles and seek medical treatment.
