Earlier this week, Jasper High School announced that a brand-new strength and conditioning facility will be built in honor of the Burt family, a name synonymous with dedication, mentorship, and decades of service to Jasper ISD. The Burt Family Strength & Conditioning Facility, made possible through the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) and Fin Ewing’s Iron Sharpens Iron Foundation, will stand as a living tribute to Coach Ayden Burt, her father David Burt, and the family’s extraordinary 105-year legacy within the district.

The announcement came just ahead of a deeply personal public statement released by Superintendent John Seybold, in which he reflected on the impact the Burts have had on generations of students, staff, and community members.

“Their collective impact on our district and community is immeasurable,” Seybold wrote. “While we continue to grieve their loss, we remain committed to honoring their remarkable legacy.”

The facility, expected to be completed by Spring Break 2026, will be a state-of-the-art training center designed to help Bulldog athletes grow stronger—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Jasper becomes only the fourth district in the state to receive this prestigious upgrade, following Cedar Hill, Uvalde, and Rio Hondo.

Major sponsors supporting the project include:

  • Hammer Strength

  • RFS Sport Surfaces

  • Texas Power Bars

  • Waterboy Graphics

  • Advanced Exercise (Blair Prince)

In their announcement, Jasper High School simply stated:

“For all of the Coach Burts who have helped build Bulldogs for decades.”

That message hit home.

Coach Ayden Burt was more than an educator—she was a mentor, a role model, and a proud product of the very district she served. Her father, David Burt, served as a coach and principal, pouring his life into Jasper ISD. Alongside Ayden’s grandparents, Sammie and Billy Burt, the family has given over a century of combined service to the district and community.

Superintendent Seybold’s statement included one of Ayden’s most powerful reflections:

“I am proud to say I was a Jasper kid. I am going to set an example for the present Jasper kids that they too can be proud of where they come from.”

Now, that example will live on—in every rep, every workout, and every Bulldog who walks through the doors of the Burt Family Strength & Conditioning Facility.

This isn’t just about new equipment. It’s about ensuring the names Ayden and David Burt continue to inspire future athletes and students—not as a memory, but as a driving force.

The announcement joins a growing list of meaningful tributes already established in their honor, including:

  • The Ayden Burt Memorial Scholarship.

  • The Rose Garden at Jasper Junior High.

Each of these acts reflects a powerful truth: Jasper isn’t just remembering the Burt family—it’s continuing their mission.

This facility won’t just build strength. It will build resilience. It will teach every student who walks through its doors what it means to carry a legacy—and to lift others as you rise.

From the field, to the classroom, to this new foundation in their name, the Burt family’s impact remains unshakable. Their legacy isn’t just being honored—it’s being lived.
