Lamar University evacuated today following threat-arrest has been made

BEAUMONT, TX- Lamar University conducted an immediate evacuation following a threat made at 12:15 pm Wednesday afternoon.

The University alert said that an individual dressed in construction clothing came to the construction area near the library. He made a threat and was in possession of flammable materials.

FBI and University Police began the investigation and at 2:15 pm, placed a person in custody, but students and staff are still advised to stay off campus.
