Kirbyville Woman’s Civic Club to Host Abuse Awareness Forum Sept. 27

KIRBYVILLE, Texas — The Kirbyville Woman’s Civic Club will host a free public forum on abuse awareness this Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kirbyville Community House, 309 S. Elizabeth Ave., Kirbyville.

The event will include presentations from CASA on child abuse and Avalon Place–Kirbyville on elder abuse. Additional topics include sex trafficking, teen dating violence, campus sexual assault, and intimate partner violence.

Organizers say nursing students and future teachers will benefit from learning how to identify signs of abuse in patients and students. Coffee, tea, water, and light refreshments will be provided. Attendees may also bring their own drinks.

The event is free and open to the public.
