Kirbyville Woman Arrested Following Vehicle Burglary Investigation

KIRBYVILLE, TX — A Kirbyville woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon following an investigation into a reported vehicle burglary on County Road 451, according to Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard.
On January 27, 2026, at approximately 2:37 p.m., Deputy Shannon Davis Jr. with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary of a motor vehicle at 9591 County Road 451 in Kirbyville.
The victim reported that his neighbor, Amber Granger, 39, of Kirbyville, admitted to removing items from his vehicle. The only confirmed missing item was the vehicle title, which was later recovered from a nearby creek by an elderly neighbor.
During the investigation, Deputy Davis made contact with Granger, who admitted to taking the vehicle title, a baseball bat, and miscellaneous documents from the vehicle. Granger also stated that she threw the vehicle title into the creek.
According to the sheriff’s office, Granger told deputies she entered the property believing her children were being held there. She later acknowledged that her children were safely located in Orange, Texas.
Later that afternoon, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Deputy Davis obtained an arrest warrant. Granger was arrested for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle – Class A Misdemeanor and transported to the Jasper County Jail.
As with all cases, Granger is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Sheriff Chuck Havard said he and his staff remain committed to combating criminal activity and protecting the residents of Jasper County.
