Kirbyville native Jesse Biscamp has died from injuries sustained in a refinery fire earlier this week, according to his family.

Biscamp was one of five workers transported to the hospital following a significant fire at the Valero Ardmore refinery in southern Oklahoma on Monday, February 9, 2026. His family confirmed Wednesday night, February 11, that he succumbed to his injuries.

This is a family-reported fatality. As of publication, officials have not released an updated public statement regarding his passing.

The Incident

The fire occurred late Monday afternoon or early evening at the Valero refinery in Ardmore, located in Carter County, Oklahoma — approximately 100 miles south of Oklahoma City and 100 miles north of Dallas.

According to Valero, the fire was extinguished the same evening and all workers were accounted for. Five individuals were transported to area hospitals for medical evaluation and treatment. Public reports indicate some workers sustained burn injuries, though specific medical details have not been publicly released.

Valero stated the Ardmore facility processes approximately 86,000–90,000 barrels of crude oil per day into gasoline and diesel products and employs around 270 workers.

The company confirmed the cause of the fire remains under investigation in coordination with state and local agencies. No official trigger or root cause has been identified at this time.

In a public statement, Valero said its “primary concern is for the people and safely securing the facility.”

Ongoing Investigation

At this time, officials have not released a cause of the fire.

Industry safety analysts note that refinery incidents can sometimes involve equipment malfunctions, leaks, pressure failures, or maintenance-related issues; however, investigators have not attributed this incident to any specific factor.

The Ardmore refinery previously experienced an explosion and fire in April 2020 that injured two workers. Other Valero facilities in Louisiana and Texas have also experienced notable incidents in recent years, contributing to broader industry scrutiny surrounding refinery safety practices.

The investigation into Monday’s fire remains ongoing.

Community Support for the Biscamp Family

In the days following the fire, friends, family, and community members quickly organized fundraisers to assist Biscamp’s wife and children.

One family-approved fundraiser currently underway includes a live drawing for a 30x30 concrete slab (4 inches thick, approximately $7,000 value). Spots are $100 each, with 100 total spots available. Organizers announced the drawing will be held live at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, February 12. Proceeds benefit the Biscamp family.
