Kirbyville, TX Monday morning at around 6:30 a.m., the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a burglary in progress on Cr 400 in Kirbyville. Deputies were on their way to that location when they noticed a suspicious man walking down Cr 400, leaving that area. As they approached him, Deputies saw the man dropping something that they believed and later found out was methamphetamines from his front left shorts pocket.
The man, identified as 38-year-old Brandal Burks of Kirbyville was arrested and taken to the Jasper County Jail and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance which is a State Jail Felony, and Tampering with Evidence-a 3rd Degree Felony.
The burglary is still under investigation and ETB will update our readers as more information becomes available.
Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard wants to remind the public that Burks is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
