Kirbyville High School students came together in a big way this holiday season, wrapping up their annual “Cans for a Cause” Food Drive with record-breaking results and a whole lot of Wildcat pride.

For the fifth consecutive year, the KHS Student Council, led by Sponsor Kerri Reagan, encouraged students to donate 10 cans or $10 to support families across Jasper County. Students who contributed earned their ticket to Fun Friday—a well-loved KHS tradition featuring Everythingu Coffee Shop on campus, outdoor games, a movie, and a much-deserved day of relaxation and fun.
This year’s drive generated more than 2,100 canned goods and nearly $3,000 in monetary donations for Kirbyville Christian Outreach (KCO), a nonprofit organization located downtown that assists local families with food, utilities, and essential resources throughout the year.
Everythingu Coffee Shop also played a major role in the success of the event, donating half of their profits from the day back into the fundraiser—an ongoing show of support that has become part of the drive’s tradition.
Over the last five years combined, the Student Council has donated approximately 8,000 cans and raised $13,635 to support KCO and families in need across the community.
“We are incredibly thankful for our students, for Everythingu Coffee Shop, and for the opportunity to give back,” the Student Council shared. “This drive is a blessing to families in our community, especially during the holiday season.”
Kirbyville once again proves what East Texas does best: showing up, giving back, and taking care of neighbors.
