Kirbyville Future Farmers of America or FFA students attended the 97th Annual Convention in Fort Worth.
Kirbyville JH and HS Agriculture Science teacher, Katelyn Herrin said, "This week was a true celebration of hard work, leadership, and the bright future of Texas FFA. We’re so proud of every member who represented Area 9 with excellence!"
Kirbyville FFA had six students who received the Lone Star Degree which is the highest degree in the state that you can receive. Recipients must work 300 hours with their animal projects, have 25 community service hours, show that they have made a profit with their animal, along with a few other requirements. Students also must also keep a record book about their project from freshman year on forward. It is a great honor to receive this degree.
