Kirbyville High School’s cheer squad proved once again why they are a force to be reckoned with, bringing home multiple top honors from the Grapevine Mustang Invitational over the weekend.
The Wildcats captured the 3A Championship and went on to earn the Overall Grand Champion title across Classes 2A–5A, outperforming teams from much larger schools. Kirbyville also took home Overall Crowd Leading, finishing first among all competing divisions.
Adding to the impressive sweep, the Kirbyville cheer squad outscored two reigning State Championship teams from the 4A and 5A divisions, further cementing their dominance on the competition floor.
The Grapevine Mustang Invitational is known for attracting elite programs from across Texas, making Kirbyville’s performance stand out on a statewide level.
The team’s momentum continues this week with a Spirit State Showcase scheduled for Monday evening, January 12, in Kirbyville, giving the community an opportunity to see the routine before the squad heads to the biggest stage of the season.
Kirbyville will then travel to the Fort Worth Convention Center on Thursday to compete at the UIL State Cheerleading Competition, representing East Texas among the best teams in the state.
With confidence high and hardware already in hand, the Wildcats are once again proving that size doesn’t define success — execution, discipline, and heart do.
