JCSO, Jasper PD, and State Comptroller's CID Division conducts Game Room/Vape Shop reviews throughout Jasper County

On February 11th, 2025 the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office along with the Texas Comptroller’s Investigation Division and Jasper Police Department conducted a Game Room/Vape Shop compliance check throughout Jasper County. Investigators traveled from North Jasper County to South Jasper County.
All Game Rooms/ Vape Shops and businesses with gaming devices that were inspected were found to be in violation of Jasper County Ordinances and State Law. Administrative Action was taken on all Game Rooms/ Vape Shops that were inspected and civil penalties for all establishments will be in excess of $20,000.00.
Some of the Game Rooms/ Vape Shops that were in violation were shutdown and will not be allowed to re-open until they comply with Jasper County Ordinances and State Law.
Prior to taking office on January 1st, 2025, Sheriff Chuck Havard made contact with the majority of the operators/owners of Game Rooms/ Vape Shops and they were advised that they would be held accountable and were expected to be in compliance with the Jasper County Ordinances and Texas Law to continue to operate in Jasper County.
Sheriff Chuck Havard states, “We need business in our county but they must be in compliance with ordinances and state law. These compliance review checks will be conducted on a regular basis and if these businesses are out of compliance, they will be held accountable both criminally and civilly.
We would like to thank the Jasper Police Department and the State Comptroller’s CID Division for making this operation a success.”
