Jasper woman arrested for public intoxication of narcotics Thursday morning

Jasper, TX This morning at approximately 10:15 a.m., Jasper County Sergeant Chris Wade was on routine patrol on High Truitt Road in Jasper.
Sergeant Wade noticed a woman walking down the road who was acting erratic. Sergeant Wade realized that she was intoxicated on some type of narcotic and attempted to place her under arrest for public intoxication. She began to resist and a brief struggle ensued.
Sergeant Wade was eventually able to place her in custody.
Upon searching her person, she was found to be in possession of methamphetamines. She was identified as 44-year-old Felicia Renee Simmons of Jasper.
Simmons was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance a State Jail Felony, resisting arrest a Class A Misdemeanor and public intoxication a Class C Misdemeanor. She was placed in the Jasper County Jail
Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard wants the public to know that Simmons is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
