KIRBYVILLE, TX-

On Saturday, August 9th, at around 9:25 p.m., Jasper County Dispatch received a call from someone on County Road 317 near Kirbyville. The caller stated that an SUV and a white pickup truck were 'doing donuts' in the roadway.

When a deputy arrived, he was unable to locate either vehicle, but he was later called out to that same location and was able to find the SUV traveling north on Cr 317.

The deputy stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, 37-year-old Amber Suzanne Bizzel of Jasper. According to the report, it was at this point that the deputy noticed two children, a 10-year-old and a 15 year-old in the front passenger seat, not wearing a safety belt.

Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard said that after a field sobriety test was conducted, Bizzel was determined to be intoxicated and was arrested. Once she was taken to the Jasper County Jail, a breath test was given showing her to be over the legal limit.

According to the Jasper County Jail, Bizzel went before Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 Gina Cleveland Sunday morning and was charged with Driving While Intoxicated with Child under 15 which is a State Jail Felony. Bizzel was given a $10,000 bond which she posted and was released later that day.

Just a reminder, all inmates are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
