Jasper Woman Arrested After Church Burglary, Wanted on Multiple Felony Charges in Jasper

TYLER COUNTY, Texas — A Jasper woman was arrested following a burglary at a Town Bluff church that led to the theft of a church vehicle and the discovery of methamphetamine, according to the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Bryan Weatherford said deputies responded on January 7, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., to a burglary at Victory In Jesus Church, located at the intersection of FM 1746 and FM 92. Deputies learned the church had been burglarized and that a white Chevrolet church van was missing from the property.

The stolen vehicle was immediately entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as stolen, and deputies continued investigating the scene throughout the night and following days.

On January 10, 2026, at approximately 5:00 a.m., a cashier at the Nu Way convenience store in Huntington reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the lot. The vehicle — a white van — was observed with the driver slumped over the steering wheel.

As a Huntington Police officer arrived on scene, the van exited the parking lot, prompting a traffic stop. The female driver fled on foot into a nearby wooded area. After a brief search, and with assistance from the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was apprehended.

The suspect was identified as Amber Mock, 35, of Jasper. Authorities confirmed the vehicle was the stolen church van from Victory In Jesus Church.

During a search, officers discovered approximately 5.5 grams of methamphetamine. Mock was transported to the Angelina County Jail, where she was charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Felony Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Evading Arrest.

According to the sheriff’s office, Mock is also wanted by the City of Jasper on five felony counts of Burglary of a Building and an additional Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance charge.

Mock remains incarcerated in the Angelina County Jail. She is expected to face Felony Burglary of a Building and Felony Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle charges in Tyler County. Additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information related to this case is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 936-639-TIPS (8477).
