The City of Jasper is making a major investment in public safety and infrastructure with the installation of more than 3.5 miles of new 12-inch water line on the west side of town.
The project, handled by contractor ALLCO LLC, will replace smaller existing lines along parts of Farm to Market 2799, County Road 166, Farm to Market 777, and Highway 63 West. The upgrade will increase water volume, improve fire protection for residents and businesses, and may even lower some property insurance rates once additional hydrants are in service.

“Adding these hydrants and boosting water flow makes a huge difference for fire departments and homeowners,” city officials noted. “It’s about safety, but it’s also about peace of mind.”
Project Details
Length: 3.5 miles of new 12-inch line
Location: FM 2799, CR 166, FM 777, Hwy 63 West
Hydrants: Newly installed hydrants will remain covered with black bags until testing and pressure checks are complete.
Community Benefits: Better fire protection, possible insurance savings, and improved water volume in the system.
Crews are currently trenching and laying pipe, with connections being made in areas including Ryall Acres Road. Drivers are urged to use caution around construction zones as the project continues.
Once the new line is fully tested, hydrants will be unbagged and placed in service. Until then, residents should understand that bagged hydrants are not active.
