Jasper teen shot twice last night at apartment complex

At 11 pm last night, Jasper Police Department and Texas State Troopers were dispatched to the Pioneer Crossing Apartment Complex located at 1850 South Bowie in Jasper in response to a call regarding a shooting.


Officers arrived to find 17-year-old Corday Jones, lying on the ground near the first set of buildings toward the north side of the apartment complex.   Jones appeared to have sustain at least one gunshot wound at the time of the initial officer’s observation.   It was later determined at the hospital that he suffered from two gunshot wounds.  Several spent shell casings were located in between buildings of the apartment complex. 


At this time no suspects have been identified and no motive for the shooting has been determine; however, the investigation is in its early stages and the department will provide updates when we receive the information.  


At last word, Jones was transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance in in stable condition.
