Jasper's Juneteenth Celebration was a huge success!

The combined efforts of the CFHPA, or Community and Family Heritage Preservation Association, and the Lone Star Youth Council, headed up their third annual Jasper County Juneteenth Celebration today.

The Jasper-Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Beverly Holley said, "It was the largest crowd we have ever seen with probably 175 to 200 people in attendance. There were 3 smokers going and everyone had great BBQ with all the trimmings. The DJ was playing music, and the kids were playing in the bounce house and on the water slide. Vendors were selling sweets, and jewelry, and healthcare providers were giving out helpful information to those needing assistance. A great day for everyone!"

The event has been an ongoing experience for the past 7 years in Jasper. The Jasper-Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce put it on the previous 4 years before the CFHPA and the Lone Star Youth Council took the reigns. All in all, a wonderful event for all who were in attendance!
